The Humanthro Condition is the second furry webcomic by R. C. Powell. It is the sequel to Stubble Trouble, which ran from 2008 to 2018 on DeviantART and FurAffinity. The Humanthro Condition focuses on Rosie and Jeremy, now a newlywed couple trying to survive in a very silly world.
Jeremy, the human, and Rosie, the Rottweiler, form the main "humanthro" couple of the title. Jeremy is a consummate nerd and movie buff. He works at Generic Cinemas as the assistant manager. Jeremy was first introduced in Stubble Trouble as the movie theater ticket counter man. Rosie is a Scottish immigrant who has had a lifelong passion for automotive mechanics. Though quite skillful, she still faces occasional prejudice for being a female mechanic. She and Jeremy met a number of years ago and dated during the majority of Stubble Trouble. They finally got engaged near the very end of that comic's run.
Some of their friends include Kevin who works at Generic Cinemas and Stephanie the Headless Giraffe, a decapitated florist. A man named Rasputin seems to die all the time but always comes back again and again. No one's really sure why. Gynette, Rosie's sister-in-law, makes occasional appearances and is another character from Stubble Trouble.
The Humanthro Condition acts as a sequel to Stubble Trouble and builds on its continuity, but it also works as more of a stand alone series. It is a light-hearted comedy with romance and extremely nerdy elements, as well as the occasional bit of social commentary. The Humanthro Condition is built upon the foundation of lessons learned during the many years of making Stubble Trouble. This time the focus is on the characters and their development, something that tended to be lacking due to the large number of characters in the previous comic.
